Summary
Hannafin Automation & Industrial Controls is an expanding business in the city of Belleville, Ontario, seeking a full-time Electrical Controls Designer with prior experience in manufacturing for a minimum of 40hrs/week, Monday through Friday.
Summary of Position
The incumbent is responsible for producing accurate electrical designs, support construction efforts, and designing PLC/HMI programs to satisfy our customers expectations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical and control designs of systems and equipment. The design activity entails development of electrical and instrumentations systems, panel layouts, pneumatics, part descriptions, Bills of Material, and installation instructions.
- Research, evaluate, select and draft systems designs where applicable, for components such as control panels, instrumentation, wiring and cables, MCC’s, starters, overloads, etc.
- Prepare additional project documentation such as single line diagrams, data sheets, etc. as required using Autocad and PromisE.
- Develop PLC programs for various equipment that may use Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens, etc.
- Develop programs for Human Machine Interfaces and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems such as Panelmate, Panelview, etc.
- Develop programs for Vision Systems such as Cognex, Keyence, etc.
- Develop programs for Servo Systems such as Kinetix.
- Integrate industrial data communications of our systems with customers’ existing or future network configurations.
- Perform modifications and as-built changes to current project designs as well as to standard drawings and documents.
- Prepare installation specification for contractors, and ensure proper coordination of their activities with the project.
Experience
- Electrical Technologist Diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years’ experience in electrical and control systems must have worked in manufacturing environment and knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code.Technical/instrumentation knowledge
